Starlink

Every Starlink satellite, live, by version.

SpaceX is the one carrier whose network is overhead. This page tracks it on its own: where every satellite is right now, which hardware version it is, what launched and what came down. Positions are computed in your browser from public orbit data, refreshed every day.

Positions are worked out on your device for the current second, so the dots move as the satellites do. A satellite counts as "above" a point when it is more than 25° over the horizon. Your location, if you share it, stays in your browser. Zoom with the buttons, a double-click, a pinch, or Ctrl/Cmd and the scroll wheel; drag to move.

Version comes from Jonathan McDowell's satellite catalogue, which records the hardware "bus" of each satellite. V3 is assigned to satellites launched from Starbase, which means on Starship, until the catalogue lists them. Satellites launched too recently to be in the catalogue are shown as not yet catalogued rather than guessed.

Grouped by orbital inclination. A higher inclination reaches further from the equator: 53° and 43° cover most people, 70° and 97.6° cover the poles.

Ground stations

Not shown yet, on purpose

The gateways that connect the satellites to the internet are licensed by the FCC as earth stations. They will appear here once each one can be drawn from its licence record. Until then this page shows none, rather than repeat locations it cannot source.

Where this comes from

Orbits and the direct-to-cell flag: CelesTrak, from US Space Force tracking, as of 2026-10-05 13:44 UTC. Launch and re-entry dates: CelesTrak's satellite catalogue. Hardware versions: GCAT by Jonathan McDowell (CC BY 4.0), updated 2026 Oct 2 2148:05. The page is rebuilt from all three every day.

What it is not

This is not a coverage or availability map. A satellite overhead says nothing about whether service is sold where you are, or whether a phone can reach it. Positions drift from the truth as the orbit data ages, by a few kilometres a day. SpaceX's licensed mobile spectrum, the part that reaches ordinary phones, is on the spectrum map.
